Mrs. Beth Dampf

Beth Dampf is in her 40th year of education, with the last nine years at High Point where she taught music and art.  She retired from Director of Choral Activities at Jefferson City High School.  Dampf directed the Chorale, Chamber Choir, the Fine Arts Musical, Women's Choir, Men's Choir, Concert Choir and the nationally ranked and award winning show choir, J-City Riot.  Prior to her tenure as a Jay, she taught twenty-one years in the California R-I School District where she served as Director of Choral Activities and the Activities/Athletic Director.  Choirs and students under Dampf's direction have consistently earned "I" ratings at the Missouri State High School Activities Association, received awards at Heart of America, FAME and Heritage Music Festivals, selected to the Missouri All State Choirs and traveled throughout the United States and Canada, performing in venues such as Avery Fisher Music Hall (Lincoln Center), Carnegie Hall, the White House, Missouri Governor's Mansion and Missouri's Capitol Rotunda and Senate Chamber.   Groups also performed for St. Louis Cardinals Baseball, Kansas City Royals Baseball, Mizzou Basketball, Volleyball and Baseball and Memphis Grizzlies Basketball.


A native of Buffalo, Missouri, Dampf attended Southwest Baptist University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music Education-Vocal degree and has attained a Masters of Adminstration from William Woods University.  Professional Memberships include Missouri Association of Secondary Administrators, National Association for Music Educators, Missouri Music Educators Association, where she has served as Missouri State Vice President of General Music, American Choral Directors Association, Missouri Choral Directors Association where she has served in various capacities including Missouri State President and the National Federation of High School Activities Association, where she has served as the national music representative for the Federation's Citizenship and  Equity Committee.


Active as a conductor, clinician and adjudicator, Dampf has directed the Missouri State Future Farmers of America Chorus for 30 years and served as a Missouri State High School Activities Association Festival Manager for 18 years.  


She was the recipient of the Naitonal Federation of High School Activities Association Section 5 Outstanding Educator Award (Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota), MCDA Luther T. Spayde Award, Teacher of the Year at both Jefferson City Public Schools and California R-1 Schools, Central District MMEA Teacher of the Year and West-Central District MCDA Teacher of the Year.    She has received the Honorary Missouri State Farmer Degree, the Missouri Fine Arts Academy Teacher Appreciation Award, Missouri Scholar's Academy Teacher Award, Teacher of Tolerance, Who's Who Among America's Teacher, Who's Who Among America's Professionals and the Outstanding Young Woman of America Award.  


In addition to her full time education career, Dampf plays the organ at the United Church of Christ and participates in the church choir, bell choir and is a member of the Worship Committee.  She directs the California Community Choir "Messiah" Sing Along, which recently received an invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall.


Dampf has been married to her husband, Doug for 34 years and they operate a 700 acre row crop, beef and poultry farm, which includes the family's recognized "Century Farm".  Their twins, Grace and Peter are enjoying life as young adults as they attend classes and earn money.  Dampf's husband, a former High Point Board Member and the twins are alumni of High Point R-3 School.
